SixtyDating Review

SixtyDating, as the name suggests, is a site helping mature singles of 60 years and above find dates, romance and partnership in their golden years. Here we dive into the world of Sixty Dating to see whether it lives up to the promise!

Overview

When it comes to senior dating, the most critical factor is for a platform to be easy to use. That isn't patronising but is recognising that older generations are less likely to have lots of experience with networking sites, and need a site that has been designed to make the experience enjoyable and stress-free. SixtyDating does just that, with a clean white background and uncluttered pages that are quick to navigate. Rather than making any profile fields mandatory, you have the option of filling in your profile at your leisure, which I think recognises that lots of users just want to get browsing rather than spending lots of time ticking boxes! Signing up is simple; you'll need to verify your email first, though, so keep an eye out on your inbox, and click on the confirmation link when it comes through.

While SixtyDating is aimed at seniors, there are no age restrictions, and I came across lots of men and women in their 50's - so it's a mixture of people, from all backgrounds, and with a vast range of interests; as they say, it's never too late for love!

“Mature dating, with a splash of flirting! SixtyDating is made for singles who want an easy way to meet dates, and make the very best of their time online.”

Ease Of Use

SixtyDating couldn't be easier to use; everything is clearly laid out, with a toolbar at the top of the page with all of the essential sections simply categorised. You can visit your profile and make changes at any time; whether you want to upload a new profile photo, answer any of the questions you missed on registration, or fill in your dating diary. There is plenty of capacity to create a detailed and compelling profile.

The 'Looking For' section is a great idea and helps singles work out who is likely to be an excellent match for them, and who is probably not entirely the special someone they're looking for. You can fill in all sorts of details, from body type and location to age and height. Who doesn't want the opportunity to create their dream date - and then send it out in the world and see if they are out there!

When there's something you need to do, the site displays this in a brightly coloured toolbar at the top of the page. So, if you haven't activated your email address yet, or need to upload a profile photo to receive more messages and more matches, you'll get a gentle nudge.

Deleting your account - once you've met your soulmate of course! - is just as easy of signing up, and takes only a couple of clicks through your account section. Simple; just as it should be.

Final Thoughts

The only thing confusing about SixtyDating is the range of members. It's great to see so many beautiful mature women being proactive about their love life. Still, at the same time, I did come across several users in their 30's - which makes me think either they aren't genuine or haven't understood the concept of a senior dating site?

That aside, there isn't much not to like. The subscription costs are relatively average for a UK date site. While there are savings to be made by choosing a more extended membership period, the free sign-up doesn't have a time limit or any restrictions, so you can browse and run searches to your heart's content until or unless you come across somebody you'd like to get to know better.

It's a pain that messaging is a premium service (which in fairness is very standard!). However, it is great to have a free message thrown in as a new subscriber. That means you get a built-in trial period where you can explore the site and get to know how all the features work - and if you decide you want more of that, you're free to sign up for any membership that takes your fancy.

SixtyDating offers an impressive 100% security badge, which means that the payment options are safely encrypted, and you don't need to worry about any aspect of your dating profile being publically visible. Your profile can only be seen by other members, who will also have registered and validated their email address.

While you only get unlimited messaging with an upgrade, you can send winks. This is a suitably flirty and yet friendly way to send an icebreaker, and I appreciate the idea of lots of mature singles being about to chat and flirt online in a safe, comfortable environment. Romance is never dead, and you can even send a virtual gift or two if you come across an ideal date and want to make your presence known!

If you're not sure about sending a direct message, you can add a member to your favourites, send them a wink, or ask to chat - so there are multiple communication options for you to select which you prefer.

All in all, SixtyDating is a fresh, straightforward and genuine dating site. Recommended? Definitely.
