At first glance, the website is well laid out, has a clean and fresh interface and doesn't bombard you with pop up ads - so far so good! we like the imagery used; some faith-based sites tend to use squirmingly sickly images that are an instant turn off, so ChristianFreeAndSingle have got this spot-on, particularly for the younger crowd. The site allows you to run location searches, making it quick and easy to find people to chat with nearby and uses a compatibility algorithm to try and make meaningful recommendations. Unfortunately, there isn't a mobile app, but the website is mobile optimised and worked perfectly on our devices. It feels nice and private with no public access to any information on the site. Signing up is very easy indeed; simply enter your first name, date of birth and email address - and voila! You can choose to enter a profile photo and add some more details, but this isn't mandatory so you can pop back later. There are a series of questions you can choose to answer about your favourite food, what you do for fun and other general interest questions, so it's all very straightforward and feels comfortable (rather than those high-pressure personality quizzes that always break me out in a cold sweat!). 

As soon as you've confirmed your email address you can start chatting with other members. There is a nifty 'diary post' section, which shows you the newest members who have signed up and when somebody has added a new photo if you'd like to take a peek!

The search section contains everything you'll need; you can filter by different faiths, search by area, and set age parameters. Interestingly, the maximum age goes up to 120, so this isn't a site that discriminates by age, and it's great to see a few mature singles on the platform looking for a peak. As a new user, you have access to send a free message or two, but there is a premium subscription upgrade to get full functionality from the site.

We ran a few searches and were pleasantly surprised by how many members were here. For a quieter location, seeing a good number of matches nearby within the age limits we set (30-40) was a lot more than expected. Conclusion

We liked ChristianFreeAndSingle; probably because of the two messages we'd received in half an hour of joining (who doesn't love a confidence boost!). However, it's more than that - it feels refreshing to find a faith-based site that doesn't bombard singletons who are looking for love and romance with hundreds of images of couples. The images it does use are accessible and friendly, so it's a low-pressure atmosphere.

Very often dating sites are so generic it's hard to take any of it seriously, and it's been a long time since we've seen a home page where every individual profile looks authentic and contains real information, about authentic people.

Given that the site is all about Christian dating, you're not going to find explicit images or hook-up dating.
